On Sunday, October 11, join the Ramblers on a hike and social event in Oka. There is an entrance fee of $7:50 per person for parties of 15 people or more to enter this SEPAQ park. For this event and this event only at this time The Ramblers Association will pay this entrance fee for its paid-up members. If you wish to attend, please enter your name on the LIST since we have to send a form to SEPAQ with the exact number of hikers to benefit of the group rate. If you have a Sepaq card, please register as well and bring your card with you; you are part of the group. To allow adequate time for everyone to appreciate this vista, we will stay for approximately 30 minutes and it has been suggested that this presents a great opportunity for more socializing over some beverages and a piece of cheese. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own cheese or whatever they wish to eat and drink (wine). Hike Report Sunday October 11, 2015 Oka; Calvary Summit The weather was cloudy but dry with a temperature of 9c at the beginning. Twenty people were in attendance most meeting at the SAQ parking on Main Road Hudson but some at the Ferry parking. There were two guests, Susan Mason and Daniela Moretti who stated they had a good time and will probably be joining the club. The hike went well, there were no bad incidents and everyone maintained the pace. We stopped 30 minutes at the summit for the usual refreshment break, it was a little more crowded than usual as the apple growers and Oka cheese makers were having a promotion, but quite manageable. Because of the promotion there was no entry fee for the park, the ferry fees totaled $75:00 and an expense report was submitted. This continues to be a popular hike at this time due to the fall colours and I believe it should continue to be an annual event.
