In spring, Plaisance puts on a dazzling performance starring thousands of Canada Geese and ducks. We have the choice of several trails and will decide on which one to hike depending on weather conditions. There are many easy trails. We are assured of being able to walk on the trails which are shared between cyclists and pedestrians: the Petite-Presqu'île Trail (20 km round trip) or the Grande-Presqu'île Trail (9 km round trip). We will hike mainly on:Les Baies, 5.5 km (round trip), La Sarcelle, 3 km (round trip), Le Carouge, 2.5 km (round trip) and La Zizanie des Marais,a 1 km (loop), trail runs for 1 km and has a floating boardwalk and a lookout tower. The marsh edge bustles day and night with the life of birds, fishes, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. After the hike in the Park, we will take the cars and drive on the other side of the village to the Plaisance Falls ; we will have a picnic or a snack on the banks of Petite-Nation River; it is possible to walk on a 2 km trail while discovering North Nation Mills and the Heritage Centre . The scenery is breathtaking. Plaisance Falls: Fees $5.00 par person or $4 per person (group rate). In the village, turn left on Chemin es Presqu'îles. It is possible to take Highway 50 W from Hawkesbury; exit 197:Montée Papineau/Plaisance. Information on the Park creation Members should have their card at each hike.
