REPORT:

 Mont Saint-Bruno - November 15, 2014 - Report

On Saturday November 15, the Ramblers hiked the trails of Mont St-Bruno.

We were 11 hikers, of which 7 of us carpooled to the site.

It was cold but sunny.

We started the hike around 9:45 a.m. on  Sentier Montérégien and Sentier des lacs; this is a steep stretch from which we could see many lakes.

Around 11:30, we stopped  for approximately 30 minutes for lunch in the heated shelter..

On the return descent, we headed towards Sentier du grand duc where I decided to stop for a while and Édith took over as the leader for the group.

When the group came back, we stopped by the grotto built in the 1940s  by the  Brothers of Christian Instruction of St Gabriel. From there, we headed toward the old mill, now converted into a Tea House where most of the group stopped for a very nice break of 35 minutes and enjoyed warm drinks before heading back on the trail to complete this hike. Two hikers chose to omit the stop at the Tea House and head back earlier.

We walked a distance of 16.3 km in 5 h, with a walking period of 3h25.

There were no incidents to report. Thank you to Edith  for her help.
