Hike across the frozen Lake of Two Mountains

As part of the Town of Hudson’s Shiverfest celebration, the Ramblers Association invite you to join them on a hike across the frozen Lake of Two Mountains from the Hudson Ferry Terminal to the quay in Oka and back.

Date: Saturday, February 1st

Registration: 9:30 a.m.

Departure: 10:00 a.m.

This is an opportunity to experience standing on the middle of a frozen lake  on a Canadian winter’s day. From this vantage point, the views of Hudson and Oka are spectacular and the experience is unforgettable.

All participants must register.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

For security reasons, participants will not be allowed to bring their dogs to this event.

Although there is no charge for this event, you are invited to make a small donation to assist with the costs of signage for marking Hudson’s hiking and nature trails.

Be sure to dress warmly, preferably in layers with a windproof shell. Good boots or walking shoes are essential and while ice cleats are not essential, they may be of use under certain conditions.

Departure is from the Hudson Ferry Terminal on Main Rd. near Bellevue and we would like to thank Hudson Ice Bridge Inc (450-458-2228)  for their support of this event.

Hot Chocolate will be served courtesy of Clarence and Cripps (www.clarenceandcripps.com) upon completion of the event, on the Hudson side.

Please note: This event may be cancelled at the last minute if weather conditions are not suitable. Notices to this effect will be posted the evening prior, at the ferry terminal and on the Ramblers Association web site www.lesrara.ca

N.B. Guests are welcome and members are encouraged to invite interested individuals who can participate in our sanctioned activities once per year for free. After one free event, returning guests will be invited to join the Ramblers Association and pay the annual membership fee. Those people who, after using their free pass want to participate but not join will be obliged to pay $10 per outing.

All persons who participate in a Ramblers Club activity acknowledge having read, understood and accepted the Club’s policies and waiver, as posted on the website at www.lesrara.ca, and agree to abide by them.

NOTICE: Ramblers Association hikes are held rain or shine and will only be cancelled in the case of extreme weather conditions, such as an ice storm of thunderstorms. If a hike is cancelled for these reasons an email will be sent to all members and other people on our mailing list one (1) hour before the event is due to start. This cancellation notice will also appear on our website.
