REMEMBER to bring your snowshoes. Bring water, soup, tea or hot chocolate and a lunch to fortify yourself for this 5 hour hike. You will want to bring your camera as the scenery should be spectacular.

We were 8 to participate in this hike. It was a bit cold at first, -14°C, but the hike ended at -11°C. We walked a total distance of 10.7 km.

There was hardly any snow left on the reserve. But the marsh and the “zigons” were frozen solid. So we put on our cleats.

Thank you to the Friends of the National Wildlife Area of St.Francis Lake for their warm welcome.

As we left the reserve a beautiful great gray owl came to salute us.
