On Sunday, February 10, join the Ramblers on a hike on Saint-Bernard Island, located in Châteauguay, where you will see exceptional treasures!

Discover the Marguerite-D’Youville wildlife refuge as you explore eight kilometres (five miles) of hiking trails and admire the natural biodiversity and historical past of this island with its views of Lac St. Louis. The hike is mostly on flat terrain. 

The hike will start at 9:00 a.m. It is about 8 km long and we will stop to enjoy the view at each of the lookouts. 

Dress in layers according to the weather.  Bring snowshoes and trekking poles. Remember to bring water, even in winter.

If you wish, after the hike, you may grab a bite to eat at the restaurant, Café de l'îleEach person is responsible for paying for their food and drinks at the café.

Entry fee: $4.80. The club will pay the entry fee for all members in good standing and duly registered. Even if you are not planning to carpool, please register on the LIST   if you want the club to pay your entry fee.


Carpooling: Rendezvous at 8:00 a.m. in the municipal parking lot on Raoul Blais (between the KIA dealership and the Vaudreuil Dorion Medical Clinic - 600 Boul. Harwood).  Departure will be at 8:10 a.m.

If you plan to carpool (either as driver or passenger) please register on the LIST. If you have to cancel your participation, please let us know so we will not wait for you.

Destination:  480 Boulevard d'Youville, Châteauguay, QC J6J 5T9

Directions: Take Highway 30 to René-Lévesque Blvd and continue to the end. After the railway, turn right on chemin Saint-Bernard and follow directions for the refuge faunique Marguerite-D’Youville.
