On Saturday February 2nd, you are invited on a snowshoe hike on the trails of Montagne Coupée in Saint-Jean-de-Matha. We will start by hiking the R4 loop (4 km). Then we will stop at the chalet to have lunch. After lunch we will do the R4.5 loop.

After the hike, most of you will want to check out the boutique next to the chalet, so bring some money. To see what they sell, click this link:

What to bring: Snowshoes, trekking poles and appropriate (layered) clothing. You will also need enough water for the day, a snack and a lunch.


Carpooling:  Rendezvous at 8:20 in the parking lot of the shopping Centre in Vaudreuil, between the Super C and Canadian Tire, at the corner of the Cité-des-jeunes and Boul. St-Charles, for an 8:30 a.m. departure.

Registration:  To participate to this hike you must register on the LISTE A, whether you carpool or not. This allows us to know if we should wait for you at the meeting place.

Directions & Travel time: - 1 h 34 min (127 km) / via Transcanadian Highway 40 E etc.

1-Take Highway 40 E

2-Take exit 122, then HWY 31N/QC131 to Joliette

3-When you reach Joliette continue on exit 14N for QC 131 to St-Félix-de-Valois

4-Continue on QC-131 till you reach Chemin de la Montagne-Coupée (23 minutes 25 km)

We will meet at the chalet where you can buy your ticket and use the wash room.

Hike start: Plan to arrive 15 minutes ahead of time (by 10 a.m.) in order to hear the general and specific hike information. The hike will start at 10:15 a.m. departing from the chalet.

Members should have their card at each hike. The membership fees may be paid by cheque or with Paypal.

N.B. Guests are welcome and members are encouraged to invite interested individuals who can participate in our sanctioned activities once for free. Guests must register at: invité After one free event, returning guests will be invited to join the Ramblers Association and pay the annual membership fee. Those people who, after using their free pass want to participate but not join will be obliged to pay $10 per outing.

All persons who participate in a Ramblers Club activity acknowledge having read, understood and accepted the Club’s policies and waiver and the participant guidelines, as posted on the website at, and agree to abide by them.

NOTICE: Ramblers Association hikes are held rain or shine and will only be cancelled in the case of extreme weather conditions, such as an ice storm or thunderstorms. If a hike is cancelled for these reasons an email will be sent to all members and other people on our mailing list one (1) hour before the event is due to start. This cancellation notice will also appear on our website.
